Being married to a man that is in the military can add extra stress to a relationship that probably already has to deal with all the other daily stresses that all couples have to deal with. Some of the things that add more stress would be the separation if your husband is deployed, another could be being stationed thousands of miles away from all your family and old friends, all of this and more can add a lot of emotion stress if you are a military wife. If you can learn to recognize what is stressing you out you will be able to help improve your life and combat the stress better.

You really need to be able to find the true source of the problem that might be making your life feel so tense and stressful. This is the very first step in helping yourself fight off the stress. It’s a really good idea if you start keeping a journal for yourself. Keep track of all of your thoughts when you are feeling stressed out is a good way to see what it is exactly that’s bothering you. Another thing you can do is to talk to someone you really trust, even if it’s an old friend over the phone that you no longer live by.

If you choose to keep a journal it’s a good idea to read back your different entries at later dates and then circle or highlight things that seem to be repeated themes or key things that might trigger the stress. After you see these things you might want to talk with someone in your family and see if they can shed any light on it as well so that you can narrow it down even further.

You must find some sort of support that is in your immediate area. You should get in touch with your local military family support agency. They can help you find support groups that are on the base or even in your local community. If can get together with other women who are also married to military men it’s going to immediately help you get rid of some of your stress. By venting with others who feel the same way is going to help you cope better with your stress.

You should also try to attend different functions that deal with the deployment of your husband. There is usually some sort of event held before and after they are deployed and this can be formal or informal. The events will help you get in touch with other wives whose husbands are being sent away with your husband and they can become an immediate support for you. Make sure to share information so that you can get together for other social events while your husbands are gone. This type of relationship could even turn into a friendship as well.

You need to make sure that you find something to do to occupy your time while your husband is gone. You can’t use the time to sit around worrying and thinking about the fact he’s gone. You should consider taking up a hobby or getting involved with a variety of base events there might be. Get plenty of exercise and get involved in sports if you like sports. Take classes to learn a new skill or hobby, this will not only keep you busy, but again it’s a way to meet other people.

Make sure that you have an open line of communication with your husband. Make sure that you talk to him about his deployment and what kind of work he might be doing while he is going. The more educated you are the less likely you are going to be as stressed out.

You also should be able to find a way in which you can be in communication with your husband while he is gone. Of course it depends upon what he is doing and where he’s at but you should be able to write to him or even send him emails. Find out if you can send emails, because this is a far faster way in which to message him.

We all experience moments of grief, unhappiness or stress due some or the other ill happenings in our life. When we feel ourselves incapable of coping with these stressful events, and leading a normal life, we tend to suffer from what is known as Depression. Like any serious medical condition, depression presents itself as an imbalance and needs to proper treatment.

It is however ironical, that although there is wide range of pharmacologic and psychological treatments available which have proved to be effective for the treatment of depression, treatment is either inadequate or not given at all. Meditation and yoga are safe and proven techniques that can be used for recovery from depression treatment.

Although psychiatrists encourage the usage of medication for treating depression, studies prove that meditation is a powerful natural cure for depression. A person suffering from depression carries a burden of the unpleasant experiences at the sub-conscious or un-conscious level, which he fails to understand or explain.

Meditation works both at the conscious as well unconscious level. As a result whatever comatose changes are brought about in the mind, they affect the rational and conscious part of our mind too. This is the basic principal on which meditation functions and helps depressed mind.

Meditation is increasingly seen as a useful treatment for depression. Those who have practiced meditation have experienced reduced depressive symptoms and have also proved to be useful in alleviating other medical complications like heart disease, hypertension etc, associated with depression, and that too up to 50%.

Being considered a type of mind-body harmonizing medicine, meditation relaxes and calms your mind. During meditation, you concentrate your attention and do away with the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be swarming your mind thereby resulting in stress. This method results in improved physical and emotional well-being.

You tend to gain a new perspective on traumatic situations and develop requisite skills to manage stress, once you start meditating. Moreover, you will develop an attitude of focusing on the present rather than remaining depressed about the past or anxious about the future. Negative emotions will slowly take a backseat, and your life will be filled with positivity.

The simplest cure to depression or probably anything is to channelize the process of practicing the flow of love. Believe that to receive love is your most natural condition and that this is the only thing that coud make you happy.

Meditation is a natural cure for depressions that can help you change, the way you think and perceive the world. It requires long term commitment from your side and can be great corresponding remedy to heal depression, by getting to know about the root cause of depression.

Even though your wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life it will probably be one of the most stressful time periods of your life as well. All the planning that goes into a wedding alone could make someone jump off the deep end. You don’t, however, have to allow that stress to take away all the fun that planning for a wedding and the wedding day is supposed to have. Try some of the ideas below to help you take care of that stress that might normally have you tearing your hair out before the big day.

First off, if you really want to start off right then start planning for the wedding as early as you can. If you think that the date you have picked seems like it is way off down the road, it really isn’t when it comes to all of the things that will need to be done before the big day arrives. In fact the earlier that you make all of your reservations and all of your guest lists, the sooner you’ll be able to focus on all the fun there is going to be when the day comes.

Don’t try and plan the entire wedding on your own. Generally the groom to be is hardly ever much help so it’s a good idea to just forget that idea and get the stress of asking for his help out of the way by simply not asking him. Get together with family and friends and see who is the most willing to help out and then try delegating some of the responsibilities. It’s OK for an occasion like this to take advantage of people and their willingness to help you out. It will make a lot of them feel really good if you allow some of them to run the errands, do the reservations and other stresses. They will feel like they are really contributing to your wedding.

You need to set down goals and write them down and then make sure that you stick to those goals. These goals could be when you want the invitations sent out to when you want to have the wedding cake ordered. Everything that has anything to do with your wedding should have some sort of due date. This way as you accomplish these goals you can mark them off of your goals list. This will help to keep you from getting totally buried by all the wedding plans. It will also give those who are helping an idea of when things need to be done and what things they can help you accomplish.

If you can afford it, it might be a good idea to simply hire a professional wedding planner who can help to relieve a lot of the more direct wedding stress that comes with making all of the plans. If you feel the need to do this, does not mean that you aren’t capable of doing it yourself it just means that you are trying to remember that this is a celebration of the union that will be between you and your future husband and that you desire to have it to be the best and with as little stress as possible.

When you let other people offer their opinions to try and help, that’s great, just remember though that you need to stay true to what you and your future husband want to have your wedding day to be like and not how they want it to be like. Also remember that a lot of the stress that comes with planning the wedding happens to do with money. Stick to your budget and this should help you avoid the stress that comes with spending too much money.

How to get peace of mind

Is finding peace of mind a challenge for you? Do you look for ways to get peace of mind?

When we talk about peace of mind, many people wonder how to achieve it. Life is hard, work is stressful, children need nurture, are among the excuses that people come up with for not having inner peace and peace of mind.

As I discussed in my article, “peace of mind” that when your thoughts are calm and when you are emotionally and mentally free from worry and anxiety, then you are in a state of calmness and tranquility.

Usually our minds are jumping from place to place to the point where we forget how to live in the present, focus on our vision, and enjoy the time we spend with our family. What you have to realize that we don’t have control over the events in life, but we do have control over our attitude towards what happens.

As I mentioned in my book “How to have peace of mind” that when we learn to calm our minds, then we are able to focus. When we focus, we are able to choose what to focus on.

How to get peace of mind

If your goal is to learn how to get peace of mind, so you can overcome worry and anxiety in your life, then follow the four steps below:

1. Read something inspiring

I personally have made it a habit to read for about 20 minutes before I go to sleep something that helps to bring me inner peace and calm my thoughts. Read something about personal development, mental power, nurturing your relationships. In short, read anything that helps to bring you peace of mind, satisfaction, and helps you in one of the life domains.

2. Meditate and visualize

Every day, take a few minutes in the morning and before you go to sleep to breathe deeply and clear your mind from all the chatter that you have in your mind.

After you take a few minutes to meditate and calm your thoughts, then start visualizingyour vision in life. When you visualize what you want to accomplish and feel the joy, worry and stress get reduced and you will start having peace of mind.

3. Create harmony with life

When you create harmony with everything in life, you learn to not let events and circumstances annoy or upset you. You realize that you are the one who have control over your thoughts which will have a big impact on your mood. When you choose to create harmony with things that usually put you in a negative state of mind, you are creating unity and this unity brings you inner peace and peace of mind.

4. Learn to forget

Every day, you encounter many issues that if you are going to get upset over, you will never experience peace of mind. Therefore, it is a good idea to learn to forget about small and trivial issues that you encounter in your daily life. Your inner peace and tranquility is more important.

Of course, there are many other ways that will help you to find peace of mind, but if you follow the four steps above, then you will be on the way to calming your thoughts.

God's love is special and all encompassing. His love is sacrificial. We just need to understand how amazing His love is and what that entails.

Well I had planned on posting this yesterday because of Valentine’s Day. But I’m posting it today.

Love is something special: What makes it so special is that it all started with Christ. Love can be described in many different ways. Here are just a few observations that I’ve really learned from my own experiences.

Love has many attributes: As the Scripture says “love is patient, love is kind (1Cor. 13).” Love is a verb. When someone says they love you, you can tell if they mean it. Their actions can speak louder than their words. When two people love each other deeply they are willing to put the other person before them.

Love is abundant: God’s love is so abundant that we don’t ever have to question if there is enough of it. He is more than enough for each of us. All we have to do is surrender our life to Him. And you know what? He loves us no matter what. His love is overflowing.

Love is all encompassing: It doesn’t matter what we’ve done in this life, God loves us no matter what! Love covers a multitude of sin (Proverbs 10:12) So whatever you have done, no matter big or small, find comfort that He will forgive you and that He loves you!

Love is sacrificial: Christ died on the cross for you and for me. Love laid down His life for us! He died to set us free from the bondage of sin. God loved us so much that He sent His only Son to die a cruel and awful death on the cross just for us. How is that for love?

So what about you? Do you love someone? Have you told them? How can you say that you love them? I’ll tell you how it is – because God first loved us. Romans 5:8 says “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (NASB)

Do you love the Lord? Have you told Him lately? You’re probably thinking… why should I need to tell Him that I love Him? Doesn’t He already know? Of course He knows we love Him. But it doesn’t hurt to say “Father I love you.” You glorify God when you express your love for Him.

How do you express love for the Father? Here’s some suggestions – pray, sing praises to His name, journal it, simply say it. Now I’m not saying that we have to prove our love to the Father or “do” something to show Him we love Him. We should want to love Him. We should desire to love Him and serve Him.

It’s my heart’s desire that you will discover the love of Christ. Do you know Him? If you answered yes, then praise God. But if you’re unsure or answered no, let me tell you how you can know Him:

It’s as simple as ABC -

A: Admit that you’re a sinner

- What does that involve? It involves confession. Romans 10:9-10 says ” …that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” (NASB)

B: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ

-You can pray a simple prayer that lets the Father know how you have messed up and you want to be forgiven. Here’s a sample prayer:

Father, I know I’m a sinner. I have done so many things in my life that I’m not proud of. But I know that if I confess them to You, You will forgive me. Please forgive me. I believe in your Son Jesus Christ and that he died, was buried and rose again. I want to trust in You. I pray that You will come into my heart now. And from this day forward I only want to live for You. Amen.

That’s not hard at all to say a prayer like that. As the Scripture says above “believe in your heart…” (Romans 10:9, NASB)

C: Commit your way to Him

-From this day forward you are a new being (2 Corinthians 5:17) You will now walk in a newness of life. But it doesn’t stop here. Now you must commit your way to Him. That means by prayer and walking daily with Him. I would suggest getting a version of the Bible that’s easiest for you to understand. Some people find the NASB (New American Standard Bible) the easiest to understand. I like the English Standard Version because it’s easiest for me to understand.

But take courage in knowing that now that you have accepted Christ, His love covers you completely. Nothing you do can separate you from His love. He loves you unconditionally. You are His child forever! And let me be the first to congratulate you – welcome to the kingdom of God!

If you need to talk to someone about your decision for Christ you can contact me or contact a local pastor or Christian counselor. But talk to someone if you are struggling with your decision. Or even if you just want to share what Christ has done for you, feel free to contact me or someone else.

Remember – He loves us so much. Never forget that!

Do you worry about anything and everything? Do you find you get stressed out by so many things you have to get done? Do you want to find the solution to how you can solve the worry? This article will tell you one way you can diffuse the worry - prayer.

I don’t know if I can get this done in time. I am running out of options here. What do I do if this happens? What about if that happens? I’m so stressed out! I don’t know what I’m going to do. Help!

Have you ever felt that way? We all have at some time or another. Too many deadlines at work. Too much schoolwork to handle this week. Too many bills and not enough money.

Whoa, slow down there! Breathe, just breathe. And after you take that deep breath, just relax. You say, “But I have this and I have that.” No. Just relax. It’s not doing you any good to stress about everything and anything. You’re only hurting yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually.

In fact, what you’re doing is worrying. And worrying never solved anything. All it does is make you worry about worrying. And what good is that? No good at all!

“Okay, so what do I do now that I’m semi-relaxed?” Well, it’s a good thing you asked that and it’s a good thing you have the answer right in front of you. “I do?” you might say. Yes you do.

Want to know what it is? The suspense is just killing you isn’t it? Are you worried about what the answer might be? Afraid that it might add to your worry list? Well again, just relax.

Okay here’s the answer – prayer. What?! Yes, that’s right, prayer. When you are stressed out, overwhelmed, worried, and just about to be at your breaking point, stop and pray. “But I…” look, it’s not difficult to just stop, drop everything and pray.

You can do this! Have faith that you can let all this worry go out the door. “How?” you might ask. Well that’s a great question. Here’s how:

o Sit down and make a list of everything (I mean everything) that’s stressing you out and causing you to worry. That means bills, schoolwork, teachers, friends, relationships, lack of money, etc., everything!

o Now take that list and place your hand on it. (I know this may sound kind of silly but trust me it works).

o Next, close your eyes and pray. Tell God how you’re majorly stressed about everything on that list (and probably some things you forgot).

o Ask God to release these burdens from you; to help you to not worry.

o Then after you have prayed for however long it takes you to do that, don’t worry.

Now I know what you’re thinking, “Easy for you to say.” No, it’s not really. I am just as guilty of this whole worrying thing as the next person is. But here’s something you need to remember as a Christian, we are not called to worry.

In fact, we’re not supposed to worry. The Bible says we shouldn’t worry. It even says we should not be anxious. And worrying doesn’t do us any good anyway. As I said earlier, we’re only hurting ourselves physically (making ourselves sick), emotionally (stressing out more and more), and spiritually (doubting God will do what He says He’ll do). So you see – worrying is just a waste of time and energy.

So why are you worrying? God knows all your needs even before you ask. Do you not trust that He’ll do what His Word says? Do you not believe in His promises? Don’t you think God knows what’s best for you?

Then do not worry. He knows exactly what you’re going through and He’s not surprised by it. He just wants you to draw closer to Him and be the person He has called you to be. He wants you to glorify Him in all you say and do.

Think on this: “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplicationwith thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God,which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV)

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. We need faith to trust in God and to trust Him to do what He has promised to do. Indeed we need faith to be do simple things like sitting down on a chair and believe that the chair won't break down when we sit on it! God has given each of us a measure of faith and He expects us to do lots of things without asking Him for more faith! The following tips will help you achieve more with the faith you

The bible tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. We are also told from the same book that faith without works is dead. So could it be that we are walking about with faith and no works?

God has wonderfully and fearfully created each and every one of us. We are therefore required take care of our bodies as we represent the true likeness of God. This does not require faith to do.

We have been given the basic requirements or necessities to achieve this, we have wisdom and understanding. The following examples will help us understand that we can achieve what God expects us with what He’s given us.

Keep a positive mind: The bible tells us to meditate on positive things. The bible tells us that whatever is true, noble, trustworthy, lovely e.t.c, we should think on these things. The result of this is that positive thinking does good to our minds and our body. It eliminates stress and gives us a youthful body. If we want to stay and look young, we’ll need to act on God’s word and this does not require faith to accomplish.

Take time to Rest: We are told in the word of God to take time and rest. Rest is good for your body as it gives you time to recover as well as review how you have performed certain tasks.. Rest also gives the body time to regenerate. You could rest in the form of sleep, siesta, a vacation or holiday. Whichever form you like just take time out and give yourself a break. You’ll certainly look much younger when you get back to business

Job was a very rich man. He is called the greatest of all men in the east. In those days wealth was counted by cattle and sheep. Job had 7000 sheep, 3000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen and 500 donkeys. He had many servants to care for these. Then he had seven sons and three daughters.

When our story begins, Job’s seven sons were grown and living in their own houses. The brothers and sisters were very fond of one another and took turns inviting all the others to their homes to celebrate their birthdays together.

Job was not only a rich man, but a good man as well. This is far better than being rich. He was perfect and upright. He loved and feared God and stayed away from evil. He offered sacrifices as God has taught them to do, for he knew that God was a holy God and that sin must be punished by death before anyone could come into his presence.

He not only offered sacrifices for himself but for his family as well. Job wanted them to live for the Lord too, so he prayed for them and taught them. Job was a good father. He was a good neighbour to, kind to the poor and needy and helpful to all.

We know that God is living. He hears and sees and knows all things. He has a host of angels to do His bidding and to go on errands and journeys for Him. In the book of Job God gives us a picture of something that happened in heaven, something that took place while Job was bringing his sacrifices and living a good, true life here on earth.

The angels were coming to present themselves before God, perhaps to report to Him. The Bible says, “And Satan came also among them.” Satan had been cast out of heaven because of pride and become God’s enemy. Since then he has lived on the earth, Job 1:7, and in the air, Ephesians 2:2. Here we learn that he is sometimes in Heaven as well, and for a special reason. In Revelation 12:10 he is called the “accuser of the brethren.”

It says that he accuses us before God day and night. When he see you sin he can accuse you before God. He can say, “Do you see what they have done? They have sinned and no sin can enter Heaven.” But the Lord Jesus is in Heaven too, and He makes intercession for us. He shows the scars on His hands and feet and side, and says, “Yes, they did sin, but I died for her and was punished for there sin. They have confessed this to Me and have been cleansed from it.”

Then Satan can say no more for he knows that this is true. This day in Heaven Satan was accusing Job. He hated Job because God loved him. He always hates what God loves and loves what God hates. God said that Job was the best man on the earth, and Satan said, He just serves you for what You do for him. You have given him riches and a family and servants. If you took these things away, he would not serve You. He would curse You.”

So God gave Satan permission to test Job but told him he must not hurt Job himself. So Satan left Heaven to return to earth.
